He is a historian, anthropologist, and sociologist in France. He worked as a book reviewer for the Monde des Livres, then was active for the National Institute for Demographic Studies. His studies aim at analyzing the links between the traditional family structures and the diversity of modern societies trajectories. He managed to predict the collapse of the Soviet Union, the weakening of the American system  and the Arab Spring
